Parking for the Festival
Summerfest takes place in the center of the downtown in the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park. Parking is FREE at the Elm Street Garage and the Zeiterion Parking Garage.
Elm Street Garage Take I-195 to Exit 15 (Route 18 South—Downtown). At the traffic light, turn RIGHT. Proceed 500 feet up Elm Street. The city's Elm Street Parking Garage is on your RIGHT. Vehicle height limit: 6'3".
Zeiterion Parking Garage Take I-195 to Exit 15 (Route 18 South—Downtown). Continue on Route 18 past two set of lights, immediately after going through the second set of lights you will turn right onto School Street. As you drive up the street you will see the parking garage.
NOTE The following streets will be closed:
- North Water Street from Union to Elm St
- North Water Street from Union Street to Elm Street
- Johnny Cake Hill & Bethel from Union Street to Elm Street
- 2nd Street from William Street to Elm Street
- Barker Lane from Acushnet Avenue to North 2nd Street
- Acushnet Ave from Union Street to Elm Street
- William Street from Purchase Street to N. Water Street
- Center Street from Front Street to North Water Street
- Front Street between Center Street and Rose Alley
