Artisans Marketplace
The Greater New Bedford Summerfest Artisans Marketplace promises to bring a touch of the unusual to Greater New Bedford Summerfest 2009. The Artisans Marketplace will feature more than 80 juried arts and craft booths lining the cobblestoned streets of the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park.
The Artisans’ Marketplace showcases the handcrafted work of many local artists as well as crafters from Maine to California. Hand made items in every imaginable medium will be available including photography, painting, ceramics, textiles, wood, metal, glass and stone. Shoppers will find jewelry, musical instruments, clothing, lamps, stained and blown glass, nautical crafts, wooden and cloth toys, pottery, baskets, furniture and more. There is truly something for everyone!
Fine Arts Area

There will also be Fine Arts Area in a new location in the heart of the festival in the Jacobs Family Gallery of the New Bedford Whaling Museum. This area will feature an eclectic mix of artwork including paintings, photography, jewelry, furniture, and musical instruments.
International Bazaar
Looking for a touch of the exotic? Here you can shop for high-quality, imported handcrafts from around the globe. You will find everything from jewelry and clothing to wooden and stone sculptures, woven, embroidered and beaded bags and musical instruments. As with the Artisans Marketplace and the Fine Arts Area, applicants to the International Bazaar were evaluated by the Greater New Bedford Summerfest jury to insure that their wares are of the highest quality.
For those who favor unusual handmade items for themselves or as gifts, Greater New Bedford Summerfest is the place to be and shop on July 4 & 5 from 11am-7pm.
